The Flood

Florida is nicknamed "The Sunshine State", but it couldn't have been named that by anyone who lives there. Those who live there know it rains all the time, ALL the time. It could be a perfect day, and then out of nowhere a few inches of rain will fall in a matter of minutes. I moved from Jacksonville in January of 08 and have been going to school at LCSC here in Lewiston since. I really love it here, but I miss Florida a whole lot too. I was jamming on my guitar and came up with this little riff and started thinking about the place I worked at and a whole bunch of images started coming to my mind - the train, the swamp, the homeless dude, and the many many car crashes I saw happen on the highway right in front of me. So these lyrics just started coming to me and I wrote a new song.

drifting
a moment on the train
it never seems the same
never see the rain
i dont need it anyway
ride on

swimming
a swamp of another name
it taste like salt and shame
never see the rain
coming like a hurricane
flood on

dancing
a shelter in the drain
hopped up on cocaine
never see the rain
breaking on you everyday
hold on

roaming
on wheels that never change
crash into the grade
never see the rain
all your dreams are washed away
float on

I love this song. And I love that my guitar had a cameo in your video. :)
